Four Boeing Suppliers Receive U.S. Small Business Administration Awards

ST. LOUIS, May 09, 2002 -- Four suppliers to Boeing [NYSE: BA] have been selected as Regional Subcontractors of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration, or SBA.

The winners will be honored tomorrow in Washington, D.C., as part of the 35th annual Industry and SBA Procurement Conference, Training & Business Opportunity Expo.

The Boeing-nominated winners are GMAIR (formerly American Aviation Parts Inc.) of Miami, Fla.; Ehmke Manufacturing Company Inc. of Philadelphia; FINE Laboratories Inc. of Potosi, Mo.; and Trajen Inc. of Bryan, Texas. All four companies support the Boeing Military Aircraft and Missile Systems business unit. In addition, FINE Laboratories supports Boeing Phantom Works, the company"s advanced research and development unit. In all, the SBA named 10 regional winners.

"It is gratifying to see these four Boeing suppliers honored by the SBA," said Bill Stowers, vice president and general manager of Supplier Management and Procurement. They provide us with the strength, innovation and flexibility to reinforce our role as the premier aerospace company in the world."

The winning suppliers provide a diverse assortment of goods and services to Boeing. They were cited for their top-notch customer service and high marks in quality and on-time deliveries.

To be nominated for the Subcontractor of the Year awards, suppliers must excel in the following areas: overall management, cost performance, financial strength, labor relations, customer interface, technical capabilities, resource utilization, delivery performance, special achievements and exceptional results.
